Holy Cross College (HCC) continues to strengthen its commitment to providing a safe, secure, and responsive learning environment through a recent orientation and discussion focused on the prevention and proper handling of threats within and outside the campus premises.
The activity was spearheaded by Mr. Francis Cabrera of the Basic Education Department, who led the discussion on the importance of vigilance, preparedness, and appropriate response when confronted with potential threats or security concerns. The session emphasized the shared responsibility of faculty, staff, and members of the school community in maintaining safety and ensuring that concerns are properly identified, reported, and addressed.
As part of the orientation, Mr. Jason Ramirez of the MIS Office provided a discussion on relevant DepEd Orders and Circulars, highlighting institutional policies, guidelines, and procedures that help schools effectively prevent and manage security-related incidents. The discussion aimed to ensure that participants are familiar with the policies governing campus safety and understand their respective roles and responsibilities in implementing these guidelines.
Complementing the policy discussion, Mrs. Samantha Rose Pisto and Mr. John Allend Dela Cruz of the Criminology Department shared practical tips and additional guidance on tactical response and situational awareness. Their discussion focused on the importance of remaining calm, assessing situations carefully, prioritizing personal safety, and knowing when and how to seek assistance from appropriate authorities.
The orientation served as an important avenue for strengthening the HCC community’s preparedness and awareness in responding to potential threats—not only within the campus but also in situations that may arise in its surrounding environment.
Through collaborative efforts among the Basic Education, MIS, and Criminology Departments, Holy Cross College reinforces its commitment to a culture of safety, preparedness, vigilance, and shared responsibility.
More than simply responding to incidents, HCC continues to promote proactive measures and informed decision-making to help protect its students, faculty, staff, and the entire school community.
