Holy Cross College (HCC) successfully conducted its Mental Health Fair 2026 on October 9, 2026, at the HCC Gymnasium, bringing together students and members of the school community for a meaningful celebration of mental health awareness, self-care, and emotional well-being.

Organized through the Guidance Office, the event featured a series of activities designed to encourage self-expression, promote positive mental health practices, and strengthen connections among members of the HCC community.

The program opened with a prayer, the singing of the national anthem, the reading of the school’s philosophy, mission, and vision, and opening remarks by Dr. Almario B. Garcia, PhD, LPT. It also featured a keynote address by Shaine Paula S. Santillana, followed by booth presentations and the official opening of the fair’s booths and activities.

In the afternoon, participants enjoyed a jam/open-mic session and continued engaging in the various activities prepared for the event. The program concluded with closing remarks by Kathryn Louise Valenton, LPT, MEd, followed by the evaluation and feedback session.

A HEARTFELT ACKNOWLEDGMENT TO EVERYONE

The successful conduct of the Mental Health Fair 2026 would not have been possible without the collective efforts, cooperation, and support of the HCC community.

The Guidance Office extends its sincere gratitude to the Dean’s Office, Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS), program chairs, and faculty members for assisting in the dissemination of plans and providing their continued support throughout the preparations and implementation of the event.

Special appreciation is extended to Ma’am Melanie Generoso Germino, the Supreme Student Council (SSC) officers, and the various student organizations for their invaluable guidance, dedication, and active involvement in planning and implementing the fair. Their leadership and participation played a significant role in bringing the event to life and making the activities meaningful and engaging for the students.

The Guidance Office also thanks the MIS Team, particularly Sir Jason Ramirez and Sir Eddyson Fernando, for documenting and recording the event, preserving the highlights and memorable moments of the celebration.

Gratitude is likewise extended to Sir Abraham Legaspi for sharing valuable advice and providing assistance with the necessary supplies and equipment that helped ensure the smooth implementation of the activities.

The institution also expresses its heartfelt thanks to Dr. Raquel T. Sta. Ines and Dr. Dolores Raquel Salvador for their approval and support in making this meaningful celebration possible. Their encouragement provided the opportunity for the HCC community to come together in support of mental health awareness.

Sincere appreciation is also given to the administrators and non-teaching personnel for their patience, cooperation, and understanding throughout the day’s activities.

Finally, the Guidance Office extends its warmest thanks to the entire College Department, especially all the students, faculty members, and other participants who took part in and supported the event. Their enthusiasm, involvement, and willingness to contribute helped make the Mental Health Fair 2026 a successful and memorable experience.

CONTINUING THE ADVOCACY FOR MENTAL HEALTH

Beyond the booths, activities, and performances, the Mental Health Fair 2026 served as a reminder that mental health deserves attention, understanding, and care. Through initiatives like this, Holy Cross College continues to encourage a supportive school environment where individuals can express themselves, seek support when needed, and recognize the importance of their emotional and psychological well-being.

As the celebration concludes, HCC hopes that the spirit of compassion, openness, and support fostered during the fair will continue beyond the event and become part of everyday campus life.

Together, let us break the stigma, promote understanding, and build a community where every HCCian feels heard, valued, and supported.

Congratulations and heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of the HCC Mental Health Fair 2026!
