Santa Rosa, Nueva Ecija | July 17, 2026 — Holy Cross College’ (HCC) College department successfully kicked off its Research Readiness Orientation 2026 at the HCC Function Hall, bringing together students from the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS), Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA), and Teacher Education Program (TEP) for a meaningful learning session designed to strengthen their research knowledge and skills.
With the theme, “Preparing Future Researchers for Academic Excellence,” the orientation aimed to inspire students to embrace research as a vital component of academic success, innovation, and professional growth.
The program officially opened with the registration of participants, followed by the opening prayer, the reading of the College Vision, Mission, and Goals (VMG), and welcome remarks delivered by Dr. Almario B. Garcia, Dean. Ms. Melanie G. Germino, MEnM formally introduced the guest speaker before the highlight of the program.
The orientation featured Engr. John Vincent L. Santos as the Resource Speaker, who shared valuable insights on research fundamentals, the importance of research in higher education, and practical strategies for developing quality research outputs. His engaging discussion encouraged students to cultivate critical thinking, curiosity, and academic integrity as they begin their research journey.
Following the lecture, an Open Forum provided participants with the opportunity to raise questions, seek clarification, and gain further guidance from the resource speaker. The program concluded with the awarding of a Certificate of Appreciation, closing remarks by Mr. Ken Gie Anthony G. Cruel, Vice Dean, a closing prayer, and a photo opportunity with the participants.
Organized with the support of the BSCS Coder’s Society, the Research Readiness Orientation reflects Holy Cross College’s continued commitment to developing competent, innovative, and research-oriented learners who are prepared to contribute meaningful solutions to society through quality research.
