A new set of student leaders has officially emerged as the results of the Holy Cross College Supreme Student Council (SSC) Digital Elections were recently released, marking a significant moment in student leadership and democratic participation within the institution.
Out of 1,333 registered voters, a total of 939 students cast their votes, reflecting an impressive 70.44% voter turnout, a strong indication of the HCC community’s active engagement in shaping the future of student governance.
Leading the newly elected officers is Irish Monteliola, who secured the position of SSC President with 501 votes (59.71%), defeating Reign Ashley Reyes, who garnered 338 votes (40.29%).
Joining the leadership team is Samuel Joseph Pengson, who was elected Vice President with 751 votes, running unopposed for the position.
Other newly elected SSC officers include:
- Secretary: Ronald Levi Carpio with 451 votes, winning against Rio Ipia who received 369 votes.
- Treasurer: Princess Abigail Mallari with 653 votes.
- Auditor: Jamaeca Batalla with 421 votes, narrowly surpassing Abigiel Lumerio with 379 votes.
- Social Media Officer: Lord Aron Galang with 618 votes.
- Public Information Representative: Joy Anne Remoyan with 736 votes.
Student representation across year levels and programs was also determined during the election. The elected representatives include:
- 1st Year Representative: Roland Mallari with 553 votes.
- 2nd Year Representative: Noreen Jade Marcelo with 469 votes, defeating Tryztan Gerrycho Padernal who obtained 308 votes.
- 3rd Year Representative: Love Lynnette Manuel with 606 votes.
- Program Representative: Norway Evangelista with 717 votes.
The election results reflect the collective voice of the student body, entrusting the newly elected officers with the responsibility of representing and serving the interests of the HCC community.
As the new SSC leaders prepare to take on their roles, the HCC community looks forward to a year of meaningful initiatives, strengthened student representation, and continued commitment to leadership and service.
