In a solemn and grace-filled celebration, students of Holy Cross College (HCC) received their First Holy Communionat the St. Rose of Lima Parish, marking a significant spiritual milestone in their faith journey. The Eucharistic celebration was officiated by Fr. Mark Ancheta, who led the young communicants, their families, and the HCC community in a meaningful liturgy centered on faith, gratitude, and devotion.
Dressed in white as a symbol of purity and new life in Christ, the students participated reverently in the Holy Mass, reflecting their readiness to receive the Body of Christ for the very first time. The ceremony highlighted the importance of the Eucharist as the source and summit of Christian life, deepening the learners’ understanding of their Catholic identity and spiritual commitment.

In his homily, Fr. Mark Ancheta emphasized the value of nurturing one’s relationship with God through prayer, kindness, and active participation in the Church. He encouraged the communicants to carry the presence of Christ in their daily lives—at home, in school, and in their interactions with others.
The celebration was attended by school administrators, faculty members, parents, and parish representatives, all of whom witnessed this sacred moment with joy and thanksgiving. The event reflected the strong partnership between Holy Cross College and St. Rose of Lima Parish in fostering not only academic excellence but also spiritual formation among students.
The First Holy Communion stands as a reminder of HCC’s mission to develop learners who are not only intellectually competent but also morally grounded and Christ-centered. As the newly received communicants continue their faith journey, the HCC community remains committed to guiding them toward a life rooted in values, service, and devotion.
